US holds bilateral meetings for relieving tension in Gaza
(VOVWORLD) - US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin met with his British counterpart Grant Shapps at the Pentagon Wednesday for talks on security threats in the Middle East.

Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder said the two sides discussed issues including “the escalating attacks against US troops in the Middle East, the Houthi attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea, humanitarian assistance for Gaza, and support for Ukraine.
On the same day, Aljazeera TV quoted the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs as saying that during his visit to the US, Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani had a meeting with national security advisor Jake Sullivan in Washington to discuss ways to have a just and lasting solution for the Palestinian cause.
Al Thani also separately discussed members of the US House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs ways to ensure humanitarian aid brought into Gaza in a sustainable way.
