US Independence Day marked in Ho Chi Minh City
(VOVWORLD) -Ho Chi Minh City has been a leading partner of the United States in Vietnam in science and technology, innovation, education and training, smart cities, financial hub and sustainable development, said Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong.

At the 248th celebration of the US Independence Day (July 4), organized by the Consulate General of the United States in Ho Chi Minh City held Friday evening, Mr. Cuong said that the US is currently ranks 9th out of 120 countries and territories in direct investment capital in the city with more than 500 projects. Appreciating the potential and opportunities for extensive cooperation between the two countries, he affirmed the city's commitment to strengthening cooperation with the US.
US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Susan Burns said that with the elevation of the US-Vietnam relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership last year, the bilateral ties become stronger than ever for common goals and a commitment to building a greener future. The United States fully supports Vietnam's efforts in protecting the marine environment, she said.
