(VOVworld) – US Secretary of State John Kerry met with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif in Norway on Wednesday to discuss Tehean’s complaints that it’s not getting sanctions relief under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached between Iran and world powers last July.

At the meeting, the two discussed the implementation of the nuclear deal, including banking issues and the relief of nuclear-related sanctions. Kerry emphasized Iran’s influence with the Syrian government to ensure humanitarian aid deliveries and respect a ceasefire with opposition groups.
The meeting came just a day after Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Alo Khamenei accused the US of not living up to its commitment to ease sanctions under the 2015 agreement. Zarif said certain "psychological remnants" of the previous sanctions regime have prevented European and Asian banks from conducting legitimate business with Iran. In response, US State Department spokesman John Kirby said these "psychological remnants" are related to Iran’s current behavior.
