The bilateral
negotiations took place in the framework of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the
P5+1. Six global powers - the United States,
Britain, France, China,
Russia, and Germany - are negotiating with Iran a deal that would rein in Tehran's nuclear program, reducing Western
fears that the Islamic nation could develop nuclear weapons, in exchange for
relief from sanctions that are hurting its economy. Global powers and Iran have
agreed to seek a political framework agreement by March and a comprehensive
deal by June 30.
