Kerry told reporters on a visit to India that at Wednesday’s meeting in Geneva with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, they will review the situation and provide direction to negotiation teams before the lower-level bilateral talks between Iran and members of six major powers take place.
On Monday, Zarif called on Russia to play a more active role in negotiations towards a comprehensive deal on Iran’s nuclear program. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, head of the Russian delegation, who is in Iran, said the fine relations between Tehran and Moscow are likely to help settle the Iranian nuclear issue quickly.
