(VOVworld) - US President Barack Obama warned Sunday that extremist militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant could destabilize other countries in the region. Obama said in an interview on CBS television’s “Face the Nation”, that fighting could spill over into US allies like Jordan.


He said ISIL extreme jihadist ideology poses a huge threat to the United States, and this organization, currently threatening Baghdad, wants to create an Islamic state that will incorporate both Iraq and Syria. Obama warned that no amount of US firepower can keep Iraq together if its political leaders do not work to unite the country.
