At a reception for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at the White House on Monday, Trump said the US-Israel alliance is stronger than it’s ever been. Trump mentioned a visit to Israel in May, saying it will be a big security and diplomacy challenge. Netanyahu said the US’s decision to move its embassy to Jerusalem was a historic decision.

On Monday, Manuel Hassassian, the Palestinian Authority’s diplomatic representative to the UK, said Palestinian people will find a new strategy for the Middle East peace process now that the US has discredited itself as a mediator. Hassassian said the international community should understand that the Palestine-Israel conflict is the cause of all problems in the Middle East and without resolving it, there can never be any regional peace or security.
