(VOVWORLD) - US President Joe Biden has thanked President Nguyen Xuan Phuc for attending the Climate Summit in late April and expressed his hope that the US and Vietnam will strengthen cooperation in climate change response.
In a letter sent to the Vietnamese leader on May 27, President Biden applauded President Phuc’s contributions to the success of the Summit, especially his insightful speech on economic benefits of climate action and the importance of ensuring that all countries jointly take action.
President Biden pledged to work closely with Vietnam and other countries to guarantee the success of the United Nations Climate Change Conference to be held in Glasgow later this year.
