After a convincing win in the US Election on November 6, US President Barack Obama will turn his strategic focus to the Asia region in his second 4-year term, according to analysts. In his next visit outside the country, President Obama is planning a historic visit to Myanmar to encourage its movement toward greater democracy. Obama will also visit Thailand, attend the East Asia Summit (EAS) in Cambodia, and conduct bilateral meetings with ASEAN leaders. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta are scheduled to visit Asia this month.
