(VOVworld) – US President Barack Obama said Thursday that his historic visit to Hiroshima underlines the dangers of warfare and the necessity of working for peace.

The statement was made on the sideline of the G7 Summit in Ise-Shima city, Japan.
Mr. Obama told reporters the US’s nuclear bombing of Japan on August 6, 1945, was “an inflection point in modern history”, adding that the Hiroshima event remains vivid in people’s imagination. Obama said his visit aims to once again underscore a common vision of a world without nuclear weapons.
