US records world’s highest coronavirus infection cases
(VOVWORLD) - 722,646 people were infected with Covid-19 across the world and 33,983 died as of 12 AM Monday, according to worldometers. The pandemic has spread to 199 countries and territories.
The US has now recorded 142,224 infection cases, the most of any country in the world and 2,485 deaths. It is followed by Italy with 97,689, China with 81,470, and Spain 80,110.

US President Donald Trump told a media briefing of the White House Task Force on Sunday that the US coronavirus death rate likely to peak on Easter Sunday, April 12. But he said he hopes the country "will be well on our way to recovery" by June 1.
