The latest plan has been delayed for several months.

In his recent State of the Union address, Obama urged Congress to take essential steps to shutter the prison at Guantanamo Bay. The prison was opened in 2002 to detain foreign terrorist suspects. It drew international criticism for brutality on prisoners. 93 prisoners still remain there.
