(VOVworld) – The Pentagon has discussed with its Russian counterparts the ways to avoid military risks in Syria against the context both sides are conducting airstrikes at various targets in Syria.

Pentagon press secretary Peter Cook said in an announcement that the US and Russia touched upon measures to reduce unexpected confrontations among the allied troops and the Russian armed forces whenever they launch operations near each other.

The same day the White House said the US is committed to hostility cessation in Syria regardless the information about violations of the ceasefire last weekend. White House spokesperson Josh earnest said the US administration has anticipated these violations adding that it remains too early to conclude that the ceasefire has failed.
