(VOVworld) – US Senator Marco Rubio has introduced a bill in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that proposes sanctions against China for its activities in the East Sea and East China Sea.

“The Diplomat” and the “Foreignpolicy.com” on Thursday said the bill offers a plan to sanction Chinese individuals and entities that participate in Beijing’s illegal operations in the East Sea and East China Sea. The bill said China cannot be allowed to continue its illegal territorial claims and militarizing of areas crucial to global security. Rubio proposed sanctions including asset freezes, travel bans, and visa restrictions on any Chinese person who contributes to construction or development projects in any disputed area of the East Sea, or who is involved in actions or policies that threaten the stability of those areas.
