(VOVWORLD) - The 2020 US presidential election accelerated on Tuesday, as voters went to the polls in 14 US states for the Super Tuesday Primary Election.

Early results showed former Vice President Joe Biden wining in Virginia, North Carolina, and Alabama. US senator Bernie Sanders claimed a big victory in home-state Vermont. Michael Bloomberg, former mayor of New York city, was the winner in American Samoa.
After Super Tuesday, primary elections will continue in other US states until the end of June. The US Democratic National Convention will be held in July in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
