This year despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual memorial for the victims of the September 11 attack in the US will be unchanged.
In February, the US reached a historic peace agreement with the Taliban who pledged that Afghanistan will be free from terrorists, al-Qaeda, and the Islamic State. In exchange, the US and its allies will gradually withdraw their troops from Afghanistan, stepping out of the longest war in history they have fought.
