According to Kudlow, Director of White House’s National Economic Council, Trump is satisfied with current progress of US-China trade negotiations. However, if there is no real progress, the US will still impose a new round of tariffs since December 15 on some 156 billion USD of Chinese goods, including Chinese-made cellphones, laptop computers, toys, and clothing. Kudlow said the two countries’ officials make calls mostly every day but there is no plan for any direct contact as well as signing ceremony of a ‘phase one’ trade deal between the two leaders.
China will waive import tariffs for some soybeans and pork shipments from the United States, China's finance ministry said on Friday, citing a decision by China’s cabinet.
