(VOVworld) - The United States is expected to impose sanctions on multiple Iranian entities as early as Friday, in response to Tehran's recent ballistic missile test.

The sanctions are said to target individuals and entities involved in Iran’s nuclear program but will not violate the 2015 nuclear deal signed between Iran and the P5+1 group, which includes the US, Britain, France, Russia, China, and Germany. The new sanctions appear to be mainly symbolic, as they will not affect the agreement to loosen the financial, economic, and oil sanctions that the international community imposed on Iran for its nuclear program.
