(VOVWORLD) - The US plans to redirect its WHO funding to other UN programs after it withdraws from the WHO next year, the US State Department said on Thursday.

According to the Department, on July 6, 2021, the US will begin recalling officials from WHO offices and seek other partners to take over activities previously run by WHO.
The US is currently the WHO’s biggest sponsor. In 2019 it donated more than 400 million USD, 15% of the organization’s budget.
