Yellen’s talks with senior Chinese officials will focus on ways to responsibly manage the relationship, communicate directly about areas of concern, and work together to address global challenges. 

Yellen is expected mention US concerns about China’s new anti-espionage law and its impact on foreign and domestic businesses.

Yellen’s 4-day trip comes just 2 weeks after Secretary of State Antony Blinken met President Xi Jinping and Foreign Minister Qin Gang in Beijing, and both sides agreed to stabilize relations between the two largest economies in the world.

US officials said they hope the US will have constructive conversations and build long-term channels of communication with China.
