US Treasury Secretary's visit reinforces economic links with Vietnam: spokeswoman
(VOVWORLD) - US Secretary of Treasury Janet Yellen’s visit to Vietnam is part of activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Partnership, said Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang in a regular press conference in Hanoi on Thursday.

"This is Ms. Janet Yellen’s first visit to Vietnam as the US Secretary of Treasury. On this occasion, the two sides will discuss ways to deepen economic ties and promote post-COVID-19 economic recovery. They will also discuss measures to support the global energy transition, enhance bilateral cooperation in finance and banking, and strengthen financial resilience and macro-economic stability,' said Ms Hang.
The US official had meetings with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and leaders of some Vietnamese ministries and sectors, according to Hang.
