US, UK, EU sign first international treaty on AI
(VOVWORLD) - The US, the UK, and the EU on Wednesday signed the European Council's Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence, the first legally binding international treaty on the use of AI.

The convention was drafted over a period of two years by 50 countries, including Canada, Israel, Japan, and Australia.
The US is"committed to ensuring that AI technologies support respect for human rights and democratic values" and sees the key added value of the Council of Europe in this area, said a senior Biden administration official.
Britain's technology minister Peter Kyle emphasized that this is the first agreement “with real teeth globally”, adding that it brings together a very disparate set of nations.
