US, UK tighten cooperation against external threats

(VOVWORLD) - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo held a discussion with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson in London on Tuesday on 5G telecommunication development, post-pandemic recovery, and negotiations for a US-UK free trade agreement with a third round slated for late July.

The same day, Pompeo met with Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab. He said at a joint press conference following their meeting, “We think that the entire world needs to work together to ensure that every country, including China, behaves in the international system in ways that are appropriate and consistent with the international order. You can't make claims for maritime regions that you have no lawful claim to. You can't threaten countries and bully them in the Himalayas.”
Foreign Secretary Raab urged the UK, the US, and their allies to stand up to protect their shared interests as tensions mount with Russia and China.
