US urges North Korea to engage in dialogue
(VOVWORLD) - The US strongly urged North Korea to return to a dialogue on Wednesday, saying it is prepared to discuss "any concerns" of Pyongyang. Sung Kim, US special representative for North Korea, said he sincerely hopes Pyongyang will respond positively, noting that the North has yet to respond to any US overtures.

On Tuesday, a meeting between Sung Kim and China's Liu Xiaoming was held in Washington to discuss Korean Peninsula denuclearization. The two discussed ways to advance the goal of denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula and ways to encourage North Korea to engage in negotiations. Sung Kim highlighted the importance of "responding firmly" to North Korea's escalatory actions, while reaffirming the US's commitment to engage North Korea in diplomacy and dialogue.
