(VOVWORLD) - The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has pledged assistance to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities in seven provinces in Vietnam.
Under a memorandum of intent signed on Saturday, USAID will work with Vietnamese agencies to provide direct care, improve the capacity of rehabilitation services, and develop social services to better serve people with disabilities in Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh provinces.
Michael Greene, Mission Director for USAID Vietnam, said that USAID continues its support to persons with disabilities in Vietnam through eight projects which aim to expand rehabilitation services, increase social support, improve disability policies, and reduce environmental barriers.
