(VOVWORLD) -Star striker Nguyen Van Quyet was announced winner of Vietnamese Men's Golden Ball and Huynh Nhu, four-time winner of Vietnamese Women’s Golden Ball, received the award for the fifth time at a ceremony on Sunday evening at the Ben Thanh Theater, Ho Chi Minh City.

32-year-old Quyet of Hanoi secured the honor for the second time before the first in 2020.
Quyet beat Nguyen Tien Linh of Becamex Binh Duong, who earns the Silver Ball and Nguyen Hoang Duc of Viettel, who is last year's winner and this year’s Bronze Ball winner. Quyet was also voted Best Player of V-League 2022.

Huynh Nhu, born in 1991, began her career with the local club Ho Chi Minh City. She played 84 games, scored 62 goals as her club crowned champions on five seasons.
In August 2022, she made history as the first Vietnamese female footballer to go play professional abroad in Europe, by signing for the Portuguese Lank FC. She has now won five times Vietnamese Women’s Golden Ball.
Goalkeeper Ho Van Y of futsal club Thai Son Nam won his second Golden Ball in a row.
Khuat Van Khang of Viettel and Vu Thi Hoa of Hanoi were honored as the best young male and female players of the year. Jamaican forward Rimario Gordon of Hai Phong became the best foreign player of 2022.
The Golden Ball title is awarded by Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper to men and women, young men and young women plus foreign footballers and futsal players.
