In her annual report to the UN Human Rights Council, Bachelet said the Venezuelans have been battered by an economic meltdown, a political crisis, and shortages of food and medicine.
Alexander Schetinin, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Latin America Department, said Wednesday that expanding US sanctions will not ease the crisis in Venezuela.
