(VOVworld) - The Venezuelan government Friday hoisted the flag of the Southern Common Market (Mercosur) at its Foreign Ministry to show that it will take on the rotating presidency despite disagreements from member countries of this bloc.

In a ceremony, Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez denounced a "boycott" from Mercosur's members of Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil, who all voted against handing the presidency to Venezuela in a meeting Thursday in Montevideo. Uruguay was the only Mercosur member country that supported Venezuela to assume the rotating Presidency.
