Foreign Minister Jorge Arreazza accused the US of sponsoring a coup d’etat led by Guaido and participated by a small group of betrayal soldiers to overthrow President Maduro’s constitutional administration.
Early Tuesday Guaido sent a video calling for more military members to help him end Maduro's "usurpation" of power. This move resulted in several clashes between police and protestors in Caracas.
The EU urged “maximum restraint” in Venezuela. EU foreign policy and security chief Federica Mogherini said “there can only be a political, peaceful and democratic way out for the multiple crises Venezuela is facing.”
