Vietjet Air CEO among world’s most powerful women
(VOVWORLD) -Vietjet Air CEO and President Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao has been named as one of the 100 most powerful women in the world by Forbes magazine.

Thao was ranked the 44th, up 11 spots since last year. According to the magazine, Vietnam’s first self-made billionaire’s estimated net worth is about 2.6 billion USD. Thao is chairperson of Sovico Holdings, President and CEO of Vietjet, and standing vice chairperson of HDBank. The market capitalizations of Vietjet and HDBank on the HCM Stock Exchange totaled billions of dollars, making Thao the second-richest person in Vietnam. Topping this year’s Forbes list was German Chancellor Angela Merkel, followed by British Prime Minister Theresa May.
