The deal is estimated to be worth billions of dollars, marking it one of the biggest agreements reached at Singapore Airshow 2024.
The wide-body aircraft market is vibrant again as air travel demand recovers after the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are excited to work with Vietjet on the next phase of the carrier's expansion,” said Christian Scherer, CEO of the Commercial Aircraft business of Airbus.
This is also the first wide-body aircraft purchase contract of VietJet Air.
International media said the latest agreement shows VietJet's development as the airline plans to expand international destinations in Australia, India, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Indonesia, and Thailand.
