Vietnam a key partner in RoK’s New Southern policy: RoK top legislator
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam is a primary cooperation partner in the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s New Southern policy, said RoK National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-seug at a reception for Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tung in Seoul on Thursday.

Speaker Park welcomed Ambassador Tung to his new post in the RoK with bilateral ties thriving. Mr. Park said he is looking forward to visiting Vietnam, the first Asian country he chooses to visit as National Assembly Speaker.
Ambassador Tung said Vietnam wants to bolster the Vietnam-RoK strategic cooperative partnership now that Vietnam and other ASEAN countries are actively implementing the New Southern policy. Mr. Tung asked the RoK to continue supporting the Vietnamese community there and vowed to do his utmost to improve Vietnam-RoK ties as the two countries approach the 30th anniversary of their diplomatic relations on December 12.
