Vietnam Airlines re-routes flights to avoid Middle East conflict
(VOVWORLD) - National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines announced that since January 8, it has diverted its flights to and from Europe away from areas which could be affected by the rising tensions in the Middle East.

While the carrier’s current flights to Europe do not fly over Iran and Iraq, Vietnam Airlines decided to take extra measures and adjust the routes to ensure the safety of passengers. These adjustments may prolong flight time and also increase expenses for Vietnam Airlines. However, the carrier will continue to observe these adjustments until tensions in the Middle East subside.
This is not the first time Vietnam Airlines has had to reroute flights away from areas of potential conflict. Previously, Vietnam Airlines diverted its routes away from areas affected by the Syria war or tensions along India's border.
