Vietnam, Algeria aim at 1 billion USD trade turnover: PM
(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has urged Vietnam and Algeria to increase bilateral trade to 1 billion USD by 2020.
At a reception for Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel in Hanoi on Friday, PM Phuc described the role of businesses and business associations as a driving force for further economic and trade ties. Mr. Phuc welcomed the outcomes of talks between Vietnamese and Algerian Foreign Ministers and suggested both sides promote the exchanges of high-level delegations and realize their commitments.
The Prime Minister said Vietnam applauds the success of a petroleum joint venture and asks for Algeria’s more favorable conditions for the joint venture’s operations, particularly administrative procedures for oil and gas exploration.
Affirming the good friendship and cooperation between the two countries, PM Phuc reiterated Vietnam’s optimal effort to nurture and develop the relationship with Algeria. He also voiced Vietnam’s support for Algeria to join the World Trade Organization, saying Vietnam is ready to send officials and experts to help Algeria in this work.
