The United States will donate nearly 19 million doses through the COVAX international vaccine-sharing program. Some 6 million doses will go to Latin America and the Caribbean, about 7 million doses to South and Southeast Asia, roughly 5 million to Africa, and over 6 million will go directly from the US to certain countries including Canada, Mexico, India, and South Korea.
The vaccines were developed by Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson &Johnson. The US has also pledged 4 billion USD over 2 years for COVAX development.
