Vietnam among most vibrant markets in Asia-Pacific in renewable energy development: forum
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam is one of the most vibrant markets in the Asia-Pacific region and leads Southeast Asia in wind and solar power development, according to experts attending the 6th Vietnam Energy and Technology Forum 2023, which opened in Hanoi on Thursday.

The event, co-organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, introduced 100 new technologies, technology trends, and applied research in the energy field.
At the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Scotland in 2021, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh announced Vietnam’s commitment to achieving “net zero emissions” by 2050. Since then the country has implemented many measures to achieve that goal.
In 2022, renewable energy accounted for 25% of Vietnam’s total power capacity. According to experts, to develop the renewable power industry, in addition to policy support, businesses must cooperate with domestic and foreign organizations to get information, technology, and other essential support.
