Vietnam and Cambodia boost cooperation in religious issue

(VOVworld) – On Tuesday, President Tran Dai Quang received the visiting visiting delegation from Cambodia’s Ministry of Cult and Religious Affairs led by Minister Him Chhem in Hanoi. Mr. Quang spoke highly of the cooperation between Vietnam’s Committee for Religious Affairs and Cambodia’s Ministry of Cult and Religious Affairs in delegation exchange and human resource training. Mr. Quang urged the two agencies to be more active in implementing cooperative programs and raise efficiency of cooperation in religious affairs, helping stabilize  the border situation between Vietnam and Cambodia.

The same day, the Committee for Religious Affairs held talks with the Cambodia’s Ministry of Cult and Religious Affairs in Hanoi. The two sides discussed the religious situation, and state management of religion, and reviewed the implementation of the cooperative agreement on religion signed between Vietnam and Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh last February. They said the cooperation between the Committee for Religious Affairs and Cambodia’s Ministry of Cult and Religious Affairs help foster traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia. The two sides agreed to promote delegation exchanges, and cooperation in training human resource working in the religious sector.
