Vietnam applauds draft convention against use of ICT technology for criminal purposes
(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam applauds the UN Special Committee Secretariat’s efforts in outlining the initial draft of a comprehensive international convention against the use of IT and communications technology for criminal purposes.

At Wednesday’s fourth session of the UN Special Committee in Vienna, Austria, the Vietnamese delegation said that the initial draft laid a solid foundation for further negotiations, with the goal of soon finalizing the draft to submit to the General Assembly for ratification.
Vietnam also contributed opinions on the scope of application, crimes of infringing upon the IT system, fraud in the use of IT, and personal criminal liability.
The Vietnamese delegation, led by Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Nguyen Trung Kien, included representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Justice.
