Vietnam, Argentina strengthen bilateral ties
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam aims to further strengthen traditional friendship and bilateral cooperation with Latin American countries, including Argentina and Uruguay.

Head of the Vietnamese Party Central Committee's Commission for Communication and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia made the statement at meetings with Argentinean and Uruguayan leaders during his visit to Argentina from August 21 to 28.

During the visit, Mr. Nghia met with Jorge Kreyness, Acting General Secretary of the Communist Party of Argentina, Juan Castillo, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Uruguay, Jorge Taiana, Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Justice Party and former Minister of Defense and Foreign Affairs of Argentina, Blanca Ines Osuna, Deputy Head of the Education Committee of the Argentine House of Representatives and the Argentina-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group, and Poldi Sosa, President of the Argentina-Vietnam Cultural Institute.

The delegation also met with leaders from Buenos Aires province and the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, and Religion, and participated in an international conference on "President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam-Latin America Relations."
During the meetings, Nguyen Trong Nghia underscored the solidarity, friendship, and support of Latin American countries, particularly Argentina and Uruguay, in Vietnam's struggle for national liberation and its current development. He congratulated Argentina's political parties on their achievements and acknowledged the challenges the country faces.
Nghia affirmed Vietnam's commitment to fostering traditional friendly and cooperative relations with Latin American nations.

Leaders from Argentina and Uruguay expressed their admiration for Vietnam's accomplishments during the Doi Moi reforms, highlighting the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam as an exemplary model for their own political parties. Both sides agreed to continue strengthening ties through delegation exchanges, enhancing cooperation mechanisms, and sharing experiences in party building and national development.
