(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese businesses have joined Argentine and foreign peers at AgroActiva – the biggest agricultural fair in Argentina, being held in Santa Fe province around 400 km from Buenos Aires.

The annual trade fair, which opened on Thursday, showcases farm produce, agricultural machinery, and scientific and technological applications in farming.
Representing Vietnam as a special guest of the fair, Ambassador to Argentina Dang Xuan Dung hosted a talk introducing Vietnam and its economic policy to participants.
He said Vietnam is a developing economy ranking 6th of 11 Southeast Asian nations with last year’s GDP growth reaching 6.8%, the highest level in recent years.
He affirmed that Vietnam has been pursuing comprehensive international integration, which is one of 3 pillars of the policy. Vietnam and Argentina made a two-way trade value of 3 billion USD last year, with Argentina becoming Vietnam’s second biggest trade partner in Latin America and Vietnam becoming Argentina’s second biggest market in Asia.
Mr. Dung also added that the two countries have a lot of potential for agricultural cooperation, as Vietnam has a high demand in animal feed, cooking oil, grains, and wheat which are strengths of Argentina’s agriculture.
