Vietnam attends 23rd ASEAN Finance Ministers’ Meeting in Thailand
(VOVWORLD) - Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung led a Vietnamese delegation to attend the 23rd ASEAN Finance Ministers’ Meeting which opened in Chiang Rai, Thailand, on Friday.

The one-day event attracted almost 300 delegates from 10 ASEAN member states, and several East Asian, American and European nations.
In his opening remarks, Thai Finance Minister Apisak Tantivorawong called on ASEAN states to cooperate to create positive changes in the world’s economy in the interest of achieving the targets set by the ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint 2025.
Participating ministers highlighted the importance of cooperation in using local currencies in investment, handling trade conflicts and supervising digital assets and cyber security in financial transactions.
Also high on the agenda was increased connectivity in finance, payment and service to facilitate intra-bloc e-payment. Cyber security was also an issue on table on how to solve threats to the financial sector.
On the same day, the 5th ASEAN Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting took place in Chiang Rai.
