(VOVworld)- The 8^th Global Forum on Migration and Development under the theme “Strengthening Partnership- Human Mobility for Sustainable Development” took place in Turkey over the past two days. The Vietnamese delegation is headed by Assistant to the Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung.

In his address, Dung highlighted Vietnam’s support for the forum and shared Vietnam’s experience in migration management for development goals. Dung also held bilateral meetings with the Director General of the International Organization for Migration and the Consul General of the Turkish Foreign Ministry. The forum was attended by more than 1,000 ministers and deputy ministers from 150 countries, representatives of international organizations, non-governmental organization and civil society organizations. The delegates stressed the need to address the root causes of the migration problem and ensure fairness for migrants.
