Vietnam attends Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Foreign Ministers' Meeting
(VOVWORLD) -Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son will attend the 7th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (MLC) in Bagan, Myanmar, on Monday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Other MLC participating countries include Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and China.

Mekong-Lancang cooperation is a new sub-regional cooperation model jointly initiated and built by China and the five Mekong countries, in order to deepen the friendly neighborliness between the six countries; promote the socio-economic development of the sub-region; narrow the development gap between countries; be conducive to ASEAN integration and regional integration; contribute to South-South cooperation and the 2030 agenda for sustainable development of the United Nations.
Last June, the 6th MLC Foreign Ministers' Meeting was held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
