(VOVworld) - The Consulate General of Vietnam in Vladivostok, Russia, attended the Pacific International Tourism Expo (PITE) 2016 held in Vladivostok at the end of May.

Organized by the Department of Tourism of Russia’s Primorsky region, the expo, the region’s largest annual event, provides a platform for participants to promote their culture and tourism, exchange tourism information, and create joint tourism programs. This year, 177 tourism businesses presented their products and services and welcomed more than 30,000 visitors. Vietnam’s four booths touted its tourist attractions, cuisine, and socio-economic development to an international audience. 
Consul General Huynh Minh Chinh applauded the role PITE plays and emphasized the importance of tourism to the socio-economic development of the Far East region.
