(VOVworld) – Belgium’s annual Seafood Expo Global 2016 is being held in Brussels from April 26 to 28 attracting thousands of suppliers and customers from around the globe.

24 Vietnamese businesses, most of them members of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers, are attending the event to introduce Vietnamese tra fish, basa fish, and shrimp. Vietnam wants to increase its seafood exports, particularly value-added items, to the European market. Vietnam earned 1.4 billion USD from seafood exports in the first quarter of this year, up 9% from last year. The US, Japan, and the EU are Vietnam’s largest export markets, buying 18% of Vietnam’s seafood exports.
