Vietnam, Austria agree to strengthen cooperative ties
(VOVWORLD) -Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and Austrian Minister in charge of Europe and International Affairs Alexander Schallenberg on Wednesday agreed on ways to strengthen the Vietnam-Austria cooperation in the coming time.

During a phone conversation, Minister Son and Minister Schallenberg agreed to maintain the exchange of delegations and contacts at all levels, coordinate in celebrating the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Austria diplomatic relations, strengthen trade-investment promotion activities, and expand cooperation in fields Austria has strengths and Vietnam has needs such as renewable energy, response to climate change, waste treatment, and processing industry.
The two sides said they will work closely together to successfully organize the upcoming meeting of the Joint Committee on Economic and Trade Cooperation and take advantage of the opportunities and benefits provided by the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement.
Minister Son suggested the Austrian Government voice their support for and push the Austrian Parliament to soon ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).
They affirmed close coordination and support for each other at multilateral forums and organizations such as the UN, ASEM, and ASEAN-EU.
