Vietnam, Belarus strengthen economic ties

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met on Wednesday with Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Sivak, who is in Vietnam to co-chair the 16th meeting of the Vietnam-Belarus Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Trade, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation and attend the "Vietnam EXPO 2025" and the Vietnam-Belarus Business Forum in Hanoi.

During their meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the need to enhance high-level delegation exchanges and cooperation at multilateral forums, urging both sides to expand bilateral economic and trade relations, which remain modest compared to their potential.

The Prime Minister also called for deeper collaboration in security and defense, digital transformation, clean energy, industry, transportation, agriculture, education, and culture.

Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Sivak affirmed Belarus’s appreciation for Vietnam’s role in Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region. He reiterated Belarus’s commitment to strengthening cooperation in various sectors for mutual benefit and sustainable development.
