The cooperation between Vietnam and Belarus have been reinforced in recent years, especially since the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) took effect in October 2016.
Accordingly, the two sides have cut about 90% of tariff lines on traded goods, which is equivalent to 90% of bilateral trade turnover. The deal has offered great opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to enter the Belarusian market and other EAEU member states.
Data from Vietnam Customs showed that bilateral trade turnover reached 59.7 million USD in 2024, of which, 27.9 million USD were from Vietnamese goods exported to Belarus.
Another major milestone is the Visa Exemption Agreement for Ordinary Passport Holders between Vietnam and Belarus, which began to take effect on January 30, this year.
The Wednesday seminar was jointly held by the Investment and Trade Promotion Centre of HCM City and the Consulate General of Belarus in HCM City.
