Vietnam calls for respect to human rights in Palestine’s occupied territory

(VOVworld) – Vietnam calls for an immediate end to violence against civilians in the Gaza Strip to make humanitarian aids possible in this area. Ambassador Nguyen Trung Thanh, Head of the Vietnam’s delegation to the UN, made the call at the 21st special session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva on Wednesday on the human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem. Thanh said the escalation of violence there has caused casualties among innocent civilians, particularly women and children. He urged parties concerned to respect humanitarian laws and human rights and expressed his belief that a cease-fire will help to resume peaceful negotiations and promote a safe environment for local people to enjoy human rights.
