(VOVworld) - Vietnam calls for a resumption of negotiations to end the Israel-Palestine conflict in line with United Nations resolutions, said Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, head of Vietnam’s UN mission.

Nga told the UN Security Council’s open debate in New York on Thursday on the Middle East situation that Vietnam supports the Palestinians’ just struggle for basic rights, including the right to self-determination and establishing an independent State.

The Ambassador expressed deep concern over recent developments in Syria, saying Vietnam strongly condemns the use of chemical weapons and other violence against innocent civilians. She urged all parties to immediately halt actions that could escalate tensions and seek an end to the conflict through dialogue and negotiation.
